It’s Wedding Time

It’s wedding season. I’m excited to celebrate one of my favorite pen pals this weekend.

I still have no idea what I’m going to wear to this fancy affair. I have the day off, but going to the mall with my children today is out of the question. Taking them anywhere right now is like herding cats. I’m just not in the mood for that nonsense.

It won’t matter anyway. No matter what I wear, I will look like a real dump truck next to the bride. She is naturally striking. With the most beautiful smile. I can’t wait to see her tomorrow.

Because no matter how many guys have said to me, “Hey who’s your friend?”  She has always loved the same boy.

So here is my wedding advice to the love birds. My sister read this during her maid of honor speech at my wedding. It’s one of our favorites.  It’s from an Italian philosopher named Dante. MORE importantly (and why we know and love this quote), LUCAS SCOTT reads this speech when he is the best man in Keith Scott’s wedding. HAHA YES! One Tree Hill my friends. The 18 year old girl who lives in my head LOVES me some Lucas Scott.

Remember tonight, for it is the beginning of always. A promise, like a reward for persisting through life so long alone. A belief in each other and the possibility of love. A decision to ignore simply rise above the pain in the past. A covenant, which at once binds two souls and yet severs prior ties. The celebration of the chance taken and the challenge that lies ahead. For two will always be stronger than one. Like a team braced against the tempests of the world. And love will always be the guiding force in our lives. For tonight is mere formality. Only an announcement to the world of feelings long held, promises made long ago in the sacred space in our hearts.”

Oh and while we are walking down dramatic teeny bopper television lane. This is my wedding day advice to you.

Oh, Blair. You evil genius.
